Quote: The Telegraph

I spoke with the Daily Telegraph about how people in the UK should think about China’s record on the climate crisis. While China is a huge emitter, it is also a world-leader in clean technologies. It is installing more renewables in a given month than others countries achieve in years. This matters for the environment but also our economy. Throughout history, the countries who’ve commanded new sources of energy gain the most economically. Britain did it with coal in the 19th century. The USA did it with oil in the 20th century. And China is doing it with renewable energy the 21st century. The UK is behind on this. This is one of the key reasons for having a strong net-zero target: it sets a direction for our inventors and investors.
